John has been extremely tired today. He did take a quick shower this morning which made him feel a little bit better. The hickman has been postponed to tomorrow early to mid morning. We told the doctor our concerns. We asked for other options and it has come down to they will try to put it in on his left side since none of his hickmans have never been infected on that side. He told the doctor and the assistant that came up later that if they can't do that they need to come up with an alternative.
The doctors have confirmed through another skin biopsy that it is not graft vs host disease it is from the chemo. It is starting to look a little better but it is still very ugly especially his legs. His counts aren't moving except for his platelets keep getting chewed up and requires a transfusion every morning. He was hoping to watch some of the Rose Bowl but was doubtful. Luke's parents (Brenda and Ziggy) came to visit for a little bit today there is a picture above of them with John from today.
Happy New Year. Talk to you all soon.

John and Jess,
I am so glad to hear the skin issue is not host vs graft.
May the new year bring new beginnings. You are in our thoughts and prays. Stay strong.
Jess and John,
You are moving the McGruders into the Technology age with their first blog! On of our (many) 2009 goals is that no matter how busy we are, we will read your blog every day, for what you are going through is much more important than a full dishwasher and laundry. We love you guys, very much.
